What data we collect and why

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept cookies, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on your device. GA4 collects anonymised information about how you use this site — pages visited, time spent, general location (country/city level), device type, and referral source. This helps us understand what content is useful and improve the site.

GA4 uses cookies stored in your browser. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google unless you've provided it elsewhere (for example, in a form). Email capture forms

This site has several forms where you can submit your email address — including the newsletter sign-up and template download. When you submit a form, the data is sent to and stored by Netlify, the platform that hosts this site. We use your email to send you the content you requested and, where you've signed up for the newsletter, to send occasional marketing emails.

We don't sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Enquiry forms

If you use the "Work with me" or "Founder Workshop" enquiry forms, the information you provide (name, email, and details of your project) is stored by Netlify and sent to Dom O'Brien for the sole purpose of responding to your enquiry. This information is not used for marketing unless you separately sign up for the newsletter.

Cookies

We only set cookies if you accept via the banner on this site. The cookie banner itself uses your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your preference — this doesn't send any data to our servers.

If you accept cookies, GA4 will set first-party cookies in your browser. These typically expire within 2 years.

Data storage and security

Form submissions are stored on Netlify's servers. Netlify is SOC 2 Type II certified and stores data in the United States. By submitting a form on this site, you consent to your data being processed by Netlify in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

We don't operate our own database for this site and don't store personal information on our own servers beyond what Netlify holds on our behalf.

Your rights under the Australian Privacy Act

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information
• Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it
• Complain if you believe we've handled your information in a way that breaches the APPs

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. If you're a newsletter subscriber and the changes are material, we'll let you know via email.
